I am a very tolerant very accepting person. I don’t give other people crap about their personal religous beliefs, everyone is after all entitled to their opinion. This is not to say I am tolerant of hatred or discrimination, however you can believe in god as much as you want, I am not going to shove my own opinion in your face and try to force it upon you

This said, today while opening my stack of christmas cards from friends and loved ones that were filled with holiday cheer and good wishes I did run across a few religious ones. I don’t mind those, whatever, this is how you celebrate more power to you. It was not until the last Christmas card that I hit a sour note. It was from our resident office JesusFreak and family. It was the usual religious love and light thing, no biggie- but what offended me to my core was the handwritten note at the bottom “we hope you find the love of Jesus Christ this year”…

Merry Christmas to you too sir. Also thanks for making sure I knew that I was a heathen and there was something “wrong” with me. I’m sorry that I don’t feel the need to attend your gaudy church every week multiple times a week which endorses things like “the gays” going to hell, wives staying at home popping out babies every 11 months and being “submissive and docile” or the idea that no matter if you’re a wife beater or child abuser all can be forgiven by a good round of prayer and nice donation. I can be just as good if not better a person and just as spiritual a person without announcing it to the whole world or attempting to force you to see that the way you’re living your life is wrong.

I will continue to live my life the best way I can, be as spritual as I would like to be and revel in the love of my friends and family- those who are truly important to me. I will not hurt people intentionally, I will not dislike or judge people simply because they are different than me, or I wouldn’t necessarily live my life the way they do. I will not murder, steal, cheat, or lie. Most of all I will not judge people or attempt to “save them” from a certain hell via a christmas card.

By the way, I found Jesus, he was behind the couch the whole time.

I hate it when Jesus hides behind my couch. So creepy.

I don’t care if he is the savior and all that.
    It’s an invasion of privacy.
