Mark Foley, wow- let me first just say how very very proud I am that this man represents my native state. Way to go Floridians, job well done. This whole thing is just amazing. Every day is like some kind of tabloid gift, and what makes it even better is that his “camp” is just making it worse every single day.

I’ve read the transcripts, they were actually almost impossible for me to finish and I can get thru some pretty disturbing stuff. What I find most amazing is the HORRIFIC job of spin his attorney is doing on this whole thing. First we get the “he is an alcoholic, and has gone into treatment” thing. Ok alcoholism is not pretty, I know this, I’ve seen it up close and personal. However alcoholism is more likely to make you stop a vote on the floor so that you can go get a drink, not to stop it so you can go have cybersex.

Now as the alcoholism thing isn’t really going as well as they’d hoped, apparently they’ve decided to pin it on the clergy. Today’s story is all about the latest revelations that he is gay (yeah I think we got that part) and he was molested by a clergyman as a teen. Huh, well that makes it all better yes?
