I had a headlight go out in the car the other day and so yesterday I finally decided that it was time to go get a new bulb. I go to my local BFE autoparts store and have them lookup the kind and all that. While checking out the friendly counter man asks “Honey would you like me to put this in for you?”
Normally I turn these offers down, I am fairly mechanical, and for gods sake it’s just a lightbulb. But it’s cold outside and was spitting rain down so I figured eh, may as well. So we go outside and I pop the hood for him and turn on the lights so that he can see which one is the lowbeam. He gets under the hood and takes the little back cover thing off and then fiddles with it for a little while.
At this point I’m already thinking about just shoving him out of the way and doing it my damn self because I’m freezing and now freezing and wet as well. That’s when he looks at me and says “I’m sorry I can’t do it for you. You’re gonna need to take the battery out to get to the clips.”
Uh huh. Sure autozone guy, whatever you say. I step in front of him, reach in unclip the light, pull out the old bulb then hold out my hand for him to give me the new bulb which he’s still holding while he stands there with his mouth open. I even managed to plug the new bulb in and get it clipped back into place all without removing the damn battery. The whole process of me actually doing it took less time than it took him to just fiddle around with it. Moron.

Useless Autozone employees. Love a woman that is handy with vehicles. I can put in a car stereo and thats about it. =p
