If you’ve not heard about the Toronto Humane society animal cruelty investigator who’s been making news recently then I suggest you look him up. (Tre Smith, toronto works well
).
This man is my hero of the day, hell perhaps my hero of the month. He was called to a cruelty complaint where some jackass had locked his rottweiler in his hot car. When the officer got there the dog was slumped over and foaming at the mouth which is not so far away from the poor puppy not being able to make it much longer, so this guy did what any good animal lover would do, he broke the car window to get the dog out. This is where it gets good, not only does he break into the car so that he can rush the poor dog to the hospital, he then handcuffs the pissed off owner of said poor puppr to the hot car to sit there until the police could arrive to arrest his punk ass.
The best best part is when the police DO get there a crowd has gathered and began beating said dog owner while he was handcuffed to the car. Were I strolling by and heard what the jackass had done I more than likely would have taken a few swings at him myself.
Now the hero of our story has been “suspended pending investigation” and the humane society has been flooded with requests to re-instate him. I happen to agree with the re-instatement camp. I think that if you lock your dog in a hot car that handcuffing you to said hot car while letting the dog out is most definetly a fair and quick method of teaching you a lesson.(the beating by angry crowd I think is also pretty damn fair). That and banning you from ever owning another pet or for that matter even having a child.
The dog by the way who’s name is Cyrus is doing much better, although they are still watching him to see to what extent his organs may have been damaged from being locked in “a sweltering car for at least two hours”. They estimate the temperature in the car to have been about 158 degrees. poor poor puppy and good good rescue officer
