Several weeks, perhaps even months ago I posted about my ear stuffiness. It was making me absolutley INSANE. I couldn’t hear properly, if I tried to use any type of swim ear drops, peroxide mixes or anything easily found on the internet it just lead to more ear clogging. My right ear would just not equalize, it crackled and popped and felt constantly like I had the right side of my head underwater. I was on the verge of calling and ENT finally to get them to look in and get out whatever was causing the problem.

Then I stumbled across a random internet post about debrox, which is an ear wax softener which has gotten rave reviews and is easily attainable from walgreens etc. I figured what the hell, $8 for debrox as a last ditch effort, or $20 copay for an ENT. So I drove my happy little ass to walgreens and picked some up. It’s directions said use for at least 3/4 days, which seems like forever when you can’t flippen hear, but it would be at least that long till I could get into a Dr, so I went for it.

Days 1 and 2 I wasn’t sure it was doing anything. i’d put several drops in my ear and lay with that ear up for 10 minutes twice a day, hoping against hope that it would clear up whatver the problem was and allow me to hear again. By day 3 I was just pissed and vowed that if it didn’t work that day I’d call the Dr the next morning. The first 10 minute session of day three I feel a pop in my ear, and what can honestly only be described as draining. As a warning if you are grossed out stop reading now!

After each 10 minute session you fill up a ball syringe type thing with lukewarm water and use that to clear the drops out of your ear. On that blessed day I fill up my little syringe, tip my head to the other side pump my ear full of water and out pops this mass of crap. I assume it was impacted ear wax , or at least that’s my story on it. Suddenly I could hear! It was fantasic and wonderful after months of this half hearing shit that I could finally hear fully with both ears. Of course I had to pick whatever that thing was up out of the sink with some TP and analyze it. I even tried to show it to A1 but he was havin none of it. After talking to SarahSpace and HSJen we all agreed that they would have done the same analysis of said mass of crap from ear canal. I think perhaps that’s a girl thing.

So I officially am recommending Debrox to anyone who has a weird ear stuffy problem. That stuff made my month if not year.
