So in a constant effort to save more money with the horribly high gas prices we’re now paying and the disgustingly high food prices as of late I’ve decided to make the house more “green” and save on the electric bill.

So far most of the lights have been switched over to the compact fluorescents and this weekend A1 and I replaced the thermostat with one of those fancy ass ones that let you setup heating and cooling schedules based on day of the week and time of day. Luckily we’re all electric power so we don’t have to pay for any gas heating/cooking etc which makes it easier to switch things over.

We also just got the electric bill, which shows me wattage used both for the current month as well as for the same month from last year. This should make it fairly easy I hope to do comparisons between the pre-energy saving steps and the post steps. Last month our bill came to $127 and change for 30 days of use. We’ll see if there’s any kind of noticeable difference over the next cycle.
