This week I am working a strange shift as I continue to take my two new fledgling staff members and prepare them for the joy that is a real job. This means that I got to work at about 3pm.
Usually I average about 100 or so emails in the hours that I’m not here excluding the spam complaints I have to read thru as the mail administrator. This afternoon while sifting thru literally about 80 emails that had come in while I have been not in the office I see three different ones from our office manager/HR person. Are they important informational emails about new policy and procedures? Are they information on my health/dental insurance? Are they information on a customer, a problem, anything at all related to my job, my work, the building we work in, the parking outside the building we work in, my coworkers, the streets running to and from the office?? No, they are chain letters.
These three in addition to the 4 from yesterday in addition to the countless others I’ve gotten from her in the last month annoy me. In fact, looking back thru all the emails I’ve gotten from her (14 since August) only 1 email has been NOT a chain letter. I swear I am going to put a rule on the exchange server that blocks any email from her to anyone with Fw: in the subject line. I can do that afterall.
