A1 is out of town this week, leaving me to my own devices, which is never a good thing. This is mainly because I tend to find the most “interesting” ways to deal with things. Case in point, it was time for the Christmas tree to get taken out for the trash people. Now I have no problem dragging the thing out of the door, but I think perhaps my plan for getting it out of the tree stand had a fatal flaw. This is mainly due to the fact that in my brilliance I decided it was best to unscrew three sides of it first while the tree was still upright in the living room.
In hindsight, perhaps I should have taken it outside and unscrewed the stand while it was alread tipped over, but again that’s hindsight. So I have the 7 foot tree upright while I’m alone in the house underneath it taking the screws out. Next thing I know there’s 7 foot of Frasier Fir laying on top of me, three freaking out dogs, and in the process of falling over it tipped the stand too so what water left in it is pooling under me and all over the carpet. Trying to get out from under said tree was a fun time, I think I’ll be pulling out tiny needles from my clothes and assorted other areas for at least the rest of the night. Least the tree is outside now.
